This summer the Shamrock undertook a major, necessary upgrade to our ice plant - specifically replacing the ice plant chiller. The chiller acts as the absolute heart of the system. It cools the fluid circulated through pipes running beneath the floor, absorbing heat to freeze water and maintain the precise, high-quality ice surface required for curling. Upgrading this unit is vital to ensure the physical reliability and long-term viability of our facility.
The installation is close to wrapping up but has experienced delays, resulting in a delayed start to the 2026-27 Curling Season.
We anticipate starting after Thanksgiving, but an exact start date is still to be determined.

About Us
The Shamrock is a non-profit located at 9330 - 80th avenue in Edmonton, Alberta. We are an 8 sheet facility that hosts a wide variety of curling leagues for curlers of all ages and skill-levels. Our upstairs lounge is fully-equipped and can seat up to 130 people comfortably. Drift Eatery provides our food and catering services. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. The Shamrock's Lounge provides the ideal setting for socializing and team-building, especially after curling. It is a great venue for all kinds of events, including: holiday parties, office functions, receptions, meetings, cocktail parties, etc.
The lounge area can comfortably seat up to 150 people. It is a cozy setting that includes a sound system, flat-screen televisions, a fully licensed bar, and a friendly and welcoming staff.
